With Waterco AC250 Glass Pearls filter media it allows the filter to operate on the basis of “depth filtration”; dirt is driven through the filter bed and trapped in minute spaces between the particles of filter media and only allow the cleansed water to pass through within.

Waterco AC 250 Glass Pearls are manufactured from 100% pure glass and provide the finest filtration than conventional filter media. This man-made media is to specific geometrical shapes providing an extremely narrow particle size range of 0.6mm to 0.8mm, enabling a dense homogeneous filter media bed, able to filter particles down to 3 microns which is 16 times finer than a strand of hair. *** 1 hair strand is equal to 50 microns

WATERCO AC250 GLASS PEARL SUPERIOR FILTRATION BY WATERCO

Waterco AC250 Glass Pearl media is enabling the super depth filtration which up to 600mm depth filter, providing in enhanced filtration also increase the capacity of dirt retention in the filter bed.

Conventional media such as sand is crushed and sieved; they generally have an irregular structure and a larger variation in particle size. A conventional media filter bed is more porous and unable to trap fine particles. Glass Pearl with its spherical media size between 0.6mm-0.8mm could traps particles in extremely narrow geometrical spaces.

Despite, comparing with other media filter Glass Pearl is much more saving in water due to their spherical smooth shape, as this result in a low coefficient of friction. After each backwash, Glass Pearls are effectively cleansed of their trapped contaminants. In a long term way, Glass Pearls require up to 20% less backwash water than sand, saving time and water.
